Over the past twenty-five years, I have been involved in developing both
research and education in computer games. This journey has included
early efforts to establish game development as a credible academic
field, the challenges of translating research into teaching, and the
creation of new curricula, laboratories, and collaborations. In this
talk, I will reflect on lessons learned from successes and setbacks
alike, and discuss how game research and education have evolved over the
years. I will also share perspectives on current directions and
future\u3000possibilities, from applied games and interdisciplinary research
to emerging fields such as quantum games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
