I am investigating transmedia imaginaries of place centered around the city of Kyoto through selected representations across media (literature, film, tv, games, etc.) and how they affect visitors and would-be visitors to the city. It is a multimethod project that combines aesthetic analysis, field studies, visitor and expert interviews.
